He Mihi

Titiro ki runga o Pouerua

He maunga whakarongo ki nga hau e wha

Ko Waitangi te awa tae rawa atu ki te moana Peiwhairangi

Ko Ngati Rahiri te hapu e

Nga whenua o Waitangi e hora nei, e mihi ana, e tangi ana ki te tangata

He tai e tangi ana i waho o Rehua, he tai mihi tanga pea, he tai mate

Haere i te ringa kaha o Aitua, te tangata i kowhakia ai te kauwai

O tera e tangi mai ra, o tera e tangi atu nei

Haere koutou, haere koutou, moe mai

Tihei mauriora

Ki te wheiao, ki te ao marama

There stands Pouerua

Open to the four winds

Below Waitangi river flowing down to the Bay of Islands

Ngati Rahiri the tribe

The lands at Waitangi call to us

To the tides beyond the shore

That mourns the passing of our ancestors

Farewell, rest in peace

Hail to thee

From the darkness into the light
